Post Graduations Paryting

After the back-to-back graduations, my long distance siblings stayed for a few days. It felt like a mini reunion of sorts. But, we were missing Austin, Jeff, and Sarah. We had a Sunday dinner to celebrate Jonny and Nona. The Wally kids wrote the menu on the chalkboard to the right.

Grandpa became the base of the pillow pyramid.

Then the party moved to the front yard and yet again grandpa became the base of another pyramid. The grandkids love this guy!

Uncle Andy helped teach Harrison how to properly use a scooter.

M.E. made her delicious banana pudding and Harrison hammed it up for the camera.

It was fun having late-night chats with these guys.

We spent a few afternoons at the beach. It felt so good having all of my siblings there!

Liam loved being thrown into the water.

I love these two together.

Uncle Billy and Harrison

We also spent some time at the park behind Nona and grandpa's house.

Coco is so stinkin' cute. She and Harrison are buds.

Hugging the gigantic bunny at Newport Beach's new civic center park.

Best friends

We snuck in one surf session. Harrison drove us there.

Jonny had to start is new job the Monday after graduation and so he went back to Calabasas on Sunday night. We missed him all week. So, when we got back, he introduced Harrison to the French Open. He was entranced.

Nona's Graduation

My mom graduated from Claremont Graduate University with her masters in religion the day after Jonny's graduation. All of my siblings flew into town to be there and we were thrilled to support her. Here we are waiting for the commencement to begin!

This pair is so great together. My dad has been mom's biggest cheerleader through the whole program.

Mom with Patrick and the dean (?)

My mom was in charge of the CGU Mormon Women Oral History project. This is the official induction of the bound oral histories into the university library.

Harrison found a new buddy that day, Uncle Andy. These two were a hoot to watch!

The sibs. So grateful to be part of this group.

Proud of my momma!

Coco and grandpa had a good snuggle during pictures.

All of the grandkids with Nona and grandpa.

Way to go Mom!

Law School Graduation

Jonny graduated from Pepperdine Law School on May 17! I am so proud of this guy. He has worked tirelessly during these last three years and it has paid off. We had a wonderful time celebrating with friends and family. The night before graduation, we went to Old Place for dinner with family. It was seriously the raddest place. Very rustic. Very cowboy. Very delicious.

We were serenaded by the local troubadours with some James Taylor and Cat Stevens.

The next morning, we pulled Harrison into bed with us for a morning snuggle. Then we tried on graduation robing.

Graduation was held on Alumni Park at Pepperdine. It was a beautiful day for a graduation! Jonny sported his orange Pepperdine sunglasses as he walked down the aisle.

I had to sit behind Jonny and officially "hood" him with his law school hood.

Harrison was watched by our family in the audience.

Harrison with our dearest friends from law school, Amber and Ryan Waggoner.

The happy family

Jonny with his dad. They all wore matching bow ties!

Jonny with his sister Sarah.

Jonny with her sister Erin and our darling nephews Wesley and Owen.

Jonny and his parents.

Jonny and Grandma Louise.

The whole gang. We were so grateful that so many members of our families came out to support Jonny.

This might need to be our Christmas card.

Harrison really enjoyed the graduation red carpet.

Following the graduation, we had a luncheon for five law school graduates up on lower campus.

Here are Ryan's parents, Gaynell and Harold. We love them and they love Harrison!

After the luncheon we went swimming at our pool and then had a pizza. I didn't get any pictures of those festivities, darn it!
